Drifting Mary

"The benevolent external dryad wonders over the prairies of the American frontier in search of souls lost in the trials of midwestern winters. Those who wish for Mary to guide lost loved ones to the otherside would place a weathered sycamore branch next to the grave. Some tales tell of settlers seeing Mary from afar just before dusk; her flowing wooded dress draping behind her with the ghosts of the less fortunate being silently led to the beyond, were rest would finally be granted to them. Mary is by far my favorite illustration i have ever done, and I have recieved more acclaim for this piece than any other. "
